ABA is gaining popularity but there are a lot of myths/ misconceptions about ABA. These stem from people not properly using ABA. This webinar reviews essential sections of the Guidelines for Responsible Conduct developed by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®) These guidelines are essential in providing quality services. It is important for parents, teachers, and providers to understand what ABA is, how it can be utilized for improving lives, and to understand ethically what to expect from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or BCBA®. Attendees can receive 2 type 2 BACB® Ethics CEUS ($5 per CEU) for attending this webinar.

Video Example 2 - Natural Environment Training
Applied Behavior Analysis is the science of understanding and improving socially significant behavior. Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) work with their clients to objectively define and analyze behavior within the context of the environment to determine what factors influence the behavior. Applied behavior analysis focuses on developing the principles of learning and acquiring behavior. Many fields use behavior analytic principles: schools, nursing homes, hospitals, businesses, and developmental disabilities.
Verbal Behavior
Verbal behavior is one of the tools in the behavior analysis tool box. Verbal behavior refers to analyzing verbal behavior in the same way that other behaviors are analyzed. Verbal behavior serves a function and it is important to understand this when teaching a child how to communicate. Some children can label items but cannot request items and vice versa. Analyzing verbal behavior and working off the child's motivation is the most effective way to develop language and communication.

| Parent Training | All parents receive hands on training from the provider regarding their child's services. Parents will learn how to decrease challenging behavior and develop appropriate behavior. |
| Support and Advocacy | The provider collaborates and provides training to the team of people interacting with the child. The provider attends IEP meetings and serves as an advocate for the child's behavioral goals and needs. |
| Workshops | The providers present scheduled hands on workshops for the community on a wide variety of topics relating to behavior analysis. Companies, schools, and agencies can also schedule workshops designed for their specific area of need.
